Brian Jackson, Ph.D.

Dartmouth College
Core Facility at Dartmouth Department of Earth Sciences

Brian's research focuses on the environmental applications of analytical techniques to probe the speciation and spatial distribution of trace metals in environmental and biological samples. Specifically, Brian has developed a number of hyphenated techniques coupling an analytical separation technique, such as liquid chromatography, with ICP-MS as a (multi-)element specific detector to study As and Se speciation in soil solutions and biological tissues, metal binding to bacteria and U binding to dissolved organic carbon and soil colloids.
